The WOMPUS ..er ahh... Cargo Carrier Rack

When it comes to a method of mounting a trunk on your Nomad, WOMPUS Racks is the best solution I have found hands down.  Well it works nicely well when someone owes you a favor and the favor just happens to be exactly what you need.  At this point in my riding "career", I really don't want to pull a trailer and the alternative is a T-bag or other annoying "stack it as high as you can methods of cartage. So Mike made me a Cargo Carrier Rack which plugs right in the hitch opening I have on my bike. Fits like a glove and was powder coated by Millers Power Coating.  Just like Mike's WOMPUS racks, this is a first rate Cargo Carrier with attention paid to detail, smooth surfaces and a great welding job too.  Maybe if you email Mike, he might start making them on a regular basis. Since the hitch opening size varies, the cost of materials varies too. Mine has a 1.25"x1.25" opening, yours may be bigger. I have a tongue weight limit of 45 lbs and the rack probably weighs 9 lbs, so I could put a 34 Liter Rubbermaid cooler back there or that silver container shown below with a weeks worth of clothes ...etc.. sigh... life is good.

Nice rack... matches the frame paint to a tee...

I finally got around to painting this EBAY trunk. I bought some of that 1/4" door trim from Pepboys and trimmed both trunks and part of the Wompus Rack as well. It isn't perfect but I am too much of an amateur in the painting department.

The silver plastic contained comes from Wal-Mart $5.... I may paint it ...heck it is silver  ...

....a little black on there...and a weather strip around the inside lip.
