Trunk 3rd Brake Light and Turn Signals

I am a big fan of LEDS. I usually buy them from www.customdynamics.com. Dave and Lyn own the place and have always been both helpful and responsive to any request I ever had. I can not recall a time when I felt mistreated or felt anything negative about this company. Other companies should take a lesson on customer service from Custom Dynamics as they do it the old way, the customer is the reason they exist.

The goal is to make me as visible as possible. And in the event I use that cargo carrier rack I have on the rear of the bike and that gray container, I will need need a "high set" of run/brake /turn indicators as the bag lights will be blocked.

This is the Radiantz strip I used.

Run mode                Brake mode

The Radiantz strip is 1' long and comes with an 18" red tube and extra end caps so you can cut lengths and segments as you like. It is flexible and you can cut it every 5 segments which is roughly every 10/16". Adding 2, 25 led segments on either end will mimic the regular rear turn signals when complete. All 3 sections fit perfectly into the 18" tube. I will add a run/brake converter circuit with the addition of one 220 ohm resistor and a forward biased small diode in series with each other.

If you just need a connector set and don't want another tool or want to mess with crimping and what not, the PCI Express Extention Cable - 12 Inches - Sleeved, with lock will work fine and are small enough to fit through the Harley Tour Pak wiring hole which is predrilled from the factory. They are 6 pin so there will be a left over wire to secure, no biggie, I just need 5 connection points. I will cut the harness in half, solder these connectors in line with the harness I ran from under the seat and I will leave as much of the yellow, brown and black wire on these connectors so I won't accidentally break the Radiantz wires if and when I need to disconnect the trunk lights, i.e.., trunk removal. These are actually fairly small connectors and have a plastic latch to keep them together. They are available from just about any Company who deals with PC power supplies.

Here is a functional diagram (top) of the circuit.

The middle diagram is to make a LED act like an 1157 brake light bulb.

The bottom is my master wiring diagram for the entire rear of the bike..... my way.
