This is a great $35 dollar investment to aid
in the on going war on cold. These are
simple to install and the benefits, to me,
are immeasurable. As you see by the picture
to the left, the kit contains some zip ties,
the flexi-heaters, a line couple a couple of
screws and a 3-position rocker switch.
Heated Grip Kit
w/Switch
Mylar tape-style heating element (4" x 2
3/4") wraps around and adheres permanently
to the handlebar beneath handgrips to
provide toasty comfort. With round rocker
switch for high, low or off temperature
settings. Extra long 32" insulated wires are
then routed along existing cables/looms.
These allow you to use the handgrip of your
choice! 12-volt system draws only 36 watts.

I elected to just wire them up with only the
high setting available. My take on these is
they work great when you add in electric
gloves into the equation. That way you have
heat on the tops of your hands and in the
palms.
I bought a pair of their heated Ultimate
Sport Touring gloves because they aren't
bulky but they just do not have the
insulation that deep winder gloves have.
However, I like the feeling of minimal palm
padding from a control sense. The 2 products
working together provide good heat down to
32deg.
I had gloves from Cozywinters and they
burned blisters on the right hand finger
joints, I had left hand failures of the
gloves. I also had a pair of the Gerbing G3
gloves, less bulky, reasonably warm with out
power, never got hot, but my hands never
really got cold. I had a left hand glove
failure in a years period of time. I was
going to try out the G5 glove but went this
route instead.
I also have the BMW grips on the bike which
are tapered and thicker compared to the
stock Honda grips. I would bet the Honda
grips will pass more heat due to their
thinness but the BMW grips are still nice
and toasty regardless.
Nice reflective
strip on the goves as well
