Hosted by Honda of Cool
Springs

Well let me say
first off, I am not, nor have I ever been employed by any Municipality, nor am I
employed by Honda Of Cool Springs, Squad Fitters or by Striker Radar. I am
employed by DIALOGIC COMMUNICATIONS CORPORATION,
who is a wholly owned subsidiary of
PLANTCML, formerly PLANT EQUIPMENT, which is a wholly owned subsidiary
of EADS
North America. Anyway, the ST1300 and motorcycling is
one of my passions and this ST1300PA seems to have also been added to the
passion list. As I get order and wiser, I find my self being more aware and
appreciative of the daily sacrifices by those who serve our nation, our
communities and those who do, and are able to come home every night and be our
friends and neighbors. I guess it is my goal to help somehow and I hope this
site does just that. So why am I at this event? Because this stuff is completely
cool, enough of my thoughts, on with the show!!!!

As usual, the
Marriot Convention Center did a bang-up job with excellent food
services for the group. There were roughly 40 or so folks in attendance
from Agencies such as the Franklin PD, Murfreesboro PD, Spring Hill PD,
Berry Hill PD, Brentwood PD, Soddy Daisy PD, Vanderbilt University and
Volunteer State College.
|
 |
Here is a shot of
Ronnie DeFrancisco, Government Sales
Manager for Honda of
Cool Springs, reviewing some of the finer details of the bike with an
officer. You will find Donnie to be more helpful, friendly and
professional as well as highly familiar with the needs and
procedures of Law Enforcement as he himself is a former officer in
another state and a currently Sheriff's Deputy in a local county.. |
|

|
I hope Donnie
doesn't get upset but I took pictures of the presentation information so
all you would-be buyers can take a look at the information. |
|

|
Study, listen and
study the facts some more. Oh what's that? A potential $2100 operational
savings per year per bike on these??? Now that's something to make
public. I think once
everyone heard the overall information and began to make their own minds
up, they were quite receptive to taking the next step, the demo bike
step that is. Their were more than just 1 or 2 Harley riders
there. The THP officer rode his Harley to the event. Left to right,
Franklin PD, Brentwood PD Chief, 2 Murfreesboro Officers and a THP
officer. |
|
|
A Vanderbilt University Police
Officer listens intently to the presentation. I think the bike was
calling his name as I could swear it moved a little closer to him. |
|

|
Darin Coyle of the
Franklin Fire Department discusses the benefits of the 4 wheel trail
machines for transport of victims and/or general equipment. The four
wheelers as you can image will just about climb a tree. HCS is a
Powerhouse Dealer which means that have everything from bikes to jet
skies and they can come up with a solution for what ever need you can
present. |

|
George Weisiger, of Squad
Fitters was on hand to address the group and confirm his companies
commitment to development and implementation of equipment for the
ST1300. They bought HCS's other demo bike to take home and "play with".
Man, some people have all the luck. Anyway, me, being the Purchasing Guy
at our company, I can tell you you will always have your needs addressed
faster at a small company as compared with a larger company, well unless
they are idiots. I buy Supermicro Systems to deploy our Mass Alert
Emergency Notification Software Products on and I have a great
relationship with the smaller company I use. I know the CEO personally and he is 110% responsive. I
sense this out of George as well. You have to have good vendors in the
technology business willing to go that extra mile. It means a lot
to have a vendor make this personal level of commitment and back it up
by dropping the cash an a bike as well. Oh, George is the tall guy in
the striped shirt. Alicia, also of Squad Fitters, is standing beside him,
behind they bike. She was also a pleasure to speak with. In the
bottom right picture, George and Jim Osborne, the owner of HCS chat with
an off duty office wearing the white hat and Steve
engages in hover mode. |
|

|
Debbie Aull, the Tennessee
Striker Radar Rep was present, gave a short
speech. I did not get a chance to speak with her . The presentation bike
has 2 hard mounted units installed, one on the front and one on the
rear. George is going to come up with a Radar Gun Mount for the ST.
Should be a minor mod to existing Harley mounts for Radar Guns. |
|

Clip 1 - Light Package
|
Steve Sakarapanee of the Tennessee
Highway Patrol, who is an instructor, tested the bike out last weekend
and answered all questions about his impressions of the bike, He rides
both Harleys and Kawasaki 1000s. He is chatting with a couple of
Murfreesboro PD Motors Officers and showing the light package off as well.
|
|

|
After the
speeches, the conversations began. Once again
Steve Sakarapanee of the THP
stepped up and fielded more question as everyone hovered around the
bike. THP wears the tan uniform.
Jim Osborne, the owner of HCS is the guy with the
white shirt on with his back to the camera. after the
presentation |
|

|
A Vanderbilt
Officer signing up for his time alone with the bike. They ride Harleys
there, Sportsters I think is what I heard, he went over the ST1300PA
with a fine tooth comb before he sat down and signed up. He was
conducting an investigation to be sure. Honda of Cool Springs is
allowing for testing of the bike in your municipality for 2 days or a
week, for free. Call them to arrange a time to suit your specific time
requirements, but remember there are a few ahead of you in line so get
your request in there ASAP. |
|

|
Woohoo!!!!, A
Murfreesboro Officer won a really nice leather jacket in the give away
from HCS. I think it was a Power Trip jacket. |
|

RULE#1
|
Well I guess that is about all
I can think of to relate to you. The Honda is a kicking machine, I am
more than happy with mine and am completely satisfied with my choice to
buy it. Know your dealer and your vendors..... and avoid this
common mistake shown at the left. Like they say, rule #2 is, when
in doubt, refer to rule#1.
Be
safe,
