A hot meal without cooking it? How can this be?

All I can say is it's about time. Actually this concept has been around awhile. MREs would be the operative word here. Technology marches on and so does your stomach and the relentless quest for food. It just seems logical to me that if you want to save valuable packing space on a motoring adventure, this would be most useful. Now I am not saying strap down enough for the entire trip, but if your camping or you wake up one morning to a solid downpour, at the campsite or hotel, and just can't bring yourself to suit up to drive somewhere to get breakfast, this really would come in handy. If you ate these in the military, you might not want to see another one of these, and that is understandable. But for the sake of convenience, I don't think you can beat these. These also are used many Emergency Management Agencies in areas where there is a conspicuous absence of electrical power or where gas cooking may be high unfavorable. Check out all the variations they offer as their offerings are extensive. Breakfast, lunch or dinner seems to be well covered in options.

Your probably wondering, did I eat one of these? Yes, I did and while it wasn't a 4-star meal, it wasn't bad at all. Not too salty. It performed as designed so to speak. I should have more samples coming to test out and review.... I'll post reviews as I eat them.

Here is the before and after shots. The left picture is right after the 10 minute cook time while it is in it's little cook bag. Just make sure you put the food back in the box while it cooks. This is the beef and green pepper dish. The rice was cooked correctly, peppers as well. This dish had a slightly sweet taste to it, but it wasn't over powering. The meat reminds me of stew meat, sort of chunky and firm. Pretty good overall. This is the basic meal. I was moderately full.

As with all the meals you just need to get your perspective right. Yes I know it doesn't look like the family sized Lasagna from Stouffer's, but then again the Stouffers doesn't self heat does it? This is the type of product designed to sustain and save life while keeping the process in a small, self contained format. And one of the best features is that these do not have to live in the freezer until you decide to eat them. They store at room temperature. So they store in saddlebags, trunks and trailers with out issue.

Here is the before and after shots. This is the chicken noodle and gravy dish. The noodles were cooked correctly, veggies as well. The chicken is similar to the beef above in texture peppers as well. Pretty good overall. This one comes with extra stuff like the squeeze chocolate peanut butter, M&M candy, Fancy Fruit Mix and other good stuff too. If you eat everything that comes with it you are full and definitely not hungry. I think removing the sensation of hunger if an intense physiological boost to the feeling of self being and forward momentum or task execution. Think about it.
