The Day-Long Touring Saddle

Well this would be the Holy Grail of motorcycle seats if I do say so my self. Forget anything else you may have thought or any other temporary or semi-permanent fix for a sore butt you may have known. This is genius and American know how as well as functionality at its prime. The mod you see here to the left was a stock seat and for $714, Russell turned it into the best seat for my needs hands down. My symptoms where after riding for around for 1.5hrs on the stock seat, I had the same feeling you get when you sit on wooden bleachers too long. I have very little "rear padding" so the sit bones don't have a lot of meat around them.  I took a little 4 hour near non stop ride the other day after I first received the seat and I couldn't believe that I didn't need to get off the bike and walk around.  No butt pain, zero.

Russell has a form you fill out and send to him with 2 pictures of you on the bike. You send the seat in and in a few short weeks, presto, you have what feels like a new bike. More info can be found here on his site.. http://www.day-long.com/

Now what can you expect to change when you receive your seat? Quality of course.

You will notice a higher seat height at least an inch. Where I rode with my stock seat in the highest position before, I ride with the Russell in the lowest.

See the "wings" on the sides of the seat? well you are not going to have that sport on the edge of the seat feel anymore. You will feel very planted in the seat. I think more attached in reality. I find I feel more in control of the bike although it is difficult to explain why in words.

I had him mod it so that I could sit father back on the seat so there is less dip toward the rear of the rivers seat.

You will notice in the front portion of the seat there is less of the curved seat where it meets the gas tank. This means less sliding forward, less lean forward and less crotch crowding.

The Rear seat was modified as well, although I don't ride back there so no comment.

I am very pleased with the outcome and can't wait for better weather since at the time of this writing it is 18 degrees out side.
