Holy
crap.... I can't see!!! Bwuahahah. Well I have to admit, the
lights from WWW.WHACKERUSA.COM
are exceptional in their light output and the overall construction of
the heads appear to be top notch. I will tell you this, these are
brighter than comparable Able2 and Whelen heads and for a chunk of
change less to boot. My sole purpose with these little monsters is to
have a quick mount, high output warning unit when I am involved in
Patriot Guard escorts. I have been on a couple where this would have
come in handy especially running at the tail end of a pack of riders and
where the police escort units are only up front. That leaves us brave
soles in the back to fend for ourselves at traffic lights. These will
help a bit. Of course you can not assume that just because these are
enabled that the traffic will part for us like Moses at the Red Sea.
That isn't realistic and that sort thinking will get you killed.
Check their web site out, look around and
feel feel to call them for any questions you might have.
Herschel, the owner is a
super nice guy who is more than willing to talk lights and so forth.
Check out the
TRAFFIC CLEANERS, that is
what these are.

I had to come up with a
cheap but useful mount for this unit, It isn't terribly heavy but 2 of
the heads do have some weight to them. I kept thinking of pot holes and
the force generated when you hit one. They can dislodge my GPS from its
cradle so I didn't want too go too flimsy on the mount. The first
picture shows a piece of decking sheet metal (Home Depot in the wood
section), used as a
reinforcement piece to the inside of the top of the dash board. You are
looking from the front of the fairing downward. A couple of screws, lock
nuts and a $0.64 piece of metal. Place, drill, screw together and that
is it. Look closely and you will see the larger hole in the metal plate
where the Ram Mount mounting bolt will come through. Large washers are
used under the nut for the Ram Mount arm inside here and at the point
where the arm touches the underneath side of the dash above the speedo.
To the left here you see the 1.5"
arm, the 2, 1" balls and the back side of this adventure. Keep it
simple. Easy On and off. Small enough to easily store in the saddle
bags. All wiring is heat shrink wrapped. The heads are water proof so don't be
concerned about the wires on the back of the plate you see. It's cool,
they're happy. Power is supplied via a left over set of Powerlet
Connectors which run to a 15amp fused connection. I may go to a
side-by-side configuration on these to see what I think. Dunno. If I do
then its another trip to Home Depot for some of the angle aluminum
strips.
Frontal heads up shot. These arm
come in numerous lengths. I could have this unit really high up if I
wanted to go that route. If I ever need to stop at night on he highway
under an emergency condition such as someone else's car wreck, I can
turn this unit to face the rear if I am off the bike assisting in some
fashion.

Here is a better look at the
assembly.
You change modes by applying 12v
to the Yellow wire of the head. The easiest way to do that is a little
momentary switch device which just plugs in to my added crimp on
connectors. When you done, toss it in the glove box until you need
it again.
